The God of Midnight

Synopsis

Welcome home, my god.

The school's Ice Princess is kneeling in my cramped six-mat room, fingertips pressed to the floor, head bowed low.

Ren Akizuki, second-year high school student, is a bottom-tier web novelist whose page views never leave the single digits. His pen name: Fuyuno Yui. He keeps writing stories that affirm, without reservation, people who crawl through the mud just to stay alive, but the numbers never move. Then Yuna, his childhood friend of ten years, sneers that he's cringe, and dumps him for a handsome transfer student.

That is when his true identity is uncovered by Koyomi Kisaragi, the school's "Ice Princess" and heiress to the mega-conglomerate Kisaragi Group. Flawless and unapproachable, she turns out to be his longest-standing fan: a hopeless superfan with a severe yandere streak who worships his novels as her lifeline.

From a six-mat room to a tower condo. Kept and adored by the Ice Princess's total affirmation, Ren is forced into the spotlight by the full might of a conglomerate. Yet the only people Koyomi ever turns sub-zero toward are those who insult his work—

Why does she cling so desperately to his stories? The answer lies in the "single read" that, back when his views were in the single digits, appeared without fail at 12:02 a.m. every night.
